Instrument Panel
The instrument panel is
made out of 1/8" plywood. It is 3/8" all the way around
larger than the cut out for it on the front deck. When the panel
is done there will be a 3/8" foam cushion installed to cut
down on engine vibration. The instruments are duel CHT - duel
EGT - ASI ( 0 to 80 ) - 12,000 ft. ALT. The only instrument not
shown is a Tiny Tach. It will be installed just above the cht
& egt.
Here is the instrument panel
installed. On the left side i installed a key ignition switch.
Below that I installed a toggle switch for strobes. The panel
is held in position with bungee cords as you can see in this photo.
My new and improved instrument
panel. I wanted to add my GPS mount to the panel and this is the
only way I could get it to fit. The toggle switches are the kill
switches. Two were advised by 2si. Also the tiny Tach is installed
in its permanent position. There is only one instrument not shown
and that is the compass. It will be placed right above the tiny
Tach at final assembly.
Finally I finished the pannel.
It looked pretty plain so I bought some spray paint that would
wrinkle up when heat was applies. I think it
looks great !
