Tail Struts

This photo shows the tail strut assembly. This was not part of the blueprints. There was a seperate 8 1/2" X 11" sheet of paper in a plastic bag with parts. This must have been a new addition to the kit because there were a number of people that I knew of that knew nothing about the tail struts. I added the lower tail struts per the information provided. I had a problem with adding the upper struts. I wouldn't be able to fold the wings if the upper struts were installed like the lower.

 

What I did was use 3/4" sq c-channel and 1/2" OD. tubine. I used clevis pins and safety rings to hold it all in place. The struts can be removed very quickly when it is time to fold the wings.
