Wing Attachment

Attaching the wings. I had
no idea on how this was to be done. I will have to say that there
is practically no info on my blueprints on how this was to be
done also. I called Ron Dulinsky ( a local 202 driver ) to give
me an idea on how I should procede. Ron came over a couple of
Sundays late to give me a hand.
The first thing done is
level the fuselage front to back and left to right.
Here the 303's right wing
was slid into position.
After both wings are in
place you need to make sure both wings are square with the fuselage
and with the tail assembly. You do this with a string that does
not streach. You measu from a point on the tail to a point on
an outer part of the wing. You need to make sure both wings are
the same on this procedure.
Both wings in position.
After both wings are in
position you have to set the dehedril which on the FP 303 is 5
degrees.
This was done by taking
masurements from the wing tips and using a water level. I wont
get into on how to do this. This web page isn't big enough.
Once you get the wings are
squared up with the tail assembly and your dehidral is set you
would next mark on the longerons where the rear spar carrythrough
will be glued in. You would also at this time drill your holes
for the bolts to attach your wings to the front and rear spar
carrythrough's. We had a problem that we couldn't get a drill
into the tight spots to drill the holes. We were able to mark
and start the holes with a dremel tool and a cable extension attached.
About a week later I found the correct tools to finish drilling
the holes.
