Wing Construction Page 3

As you can see here the next step is to install the wing end caps.

After the wing end caps are installed you can now install your leading edge plywood. After talking with Mike Makepeace I installed my leading edge Plywood a little differently. First of all I didn't wet and form the plywood first. It was put on dry. As shown here the wing was upside down. I would glue the top straight edge down. Than the next night I would wrap it around and glue it as shown here. This is the first piece installed on the wing tip.

This photo shows the second piece of leading edge plywood being installed. Where the seams are where the plywood meat there is a wide former, and the plywood should but up against each other at that wide former. Mike Makepeace suggested that I overlap both pieces of plywood where the wide former's are. This would give me a lot stronger joint. The photo shows the second piece of plywood being installed. The plywood here is glued to the bottom of the wing.

This photo shows the next day with the plywood pulled down in place. Clamps are being used on each rib and false rib to keep the plywood in place. This method worked out real good.
